Outstanding public school teachers were recognized in the 2021 Gawad Makiling held by the Department of Education of Los Baños (DepEd LB) District at the Lopez Elementary School on December 15.
The Gawad Makiling is DepEd LB’s was of appreciating and showcasing exemplary contributions of teachers and non-teaching personnel towards the progress of their schools and the communities. These teachers have also been in service for 10 to 35 years now.
Awardees were determined by a jury committee headed by Ms. Eva Marie S. Cambe, DepEd LB’s District Supervisor. It was composed mostly of Los Baños school heads and selected teachers who served as evaluators assigned to particular awards categories.
The event was graced by Dr. Elvira B. Catangay, Schools Division Superintendent, and Ms. Arlene R. Carpio, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent (Officer-In-Charge) of DepEd Laguna. Other distiguished guests were Mr. Godofredo C. Mercado, Education Program Supervisor I and Parent Supervisor of DepEd Region IV-A and Municipal Vice Mayor Josephine S. Evangelista.
